How much discomfort will I experience the following day?
Most patients experience mild pain associated with the Liposculpture procedure. However every individual is different and therefore the amount of discomfort is different for everyone. Most patients find that any discomfort associated with the procedure can be controlled with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. For our patients that experience more discomfort, which cannot be controlled with Tylenol or Ibuprofen, we are more than happy to provide something stronger.
I’ve read about the “leaking of fluid”, what is it and how long will it last for?
During the anesththizing process we must infuse a saline-based solution into the skin and fat so that you are numb. Once you are adequately numb, we will begin to remove your fat through suction. Once the procedure is over, you will notice that the small holes (adits) that where used as entry points for both the cannula as well as the numbing wand will be leaking a solution. You will still have some of that fluid left in your body once we are finished with the procedure. Your body will absorb all the fluid that you do not leak out through those adits. The amount of time that each patient’s body “leaks” varies, most patients find that their adits close up in about 2-3 days after the procedure, while others have reported continued draining for up to 1-2 weeks.
Can I have someone in the room with me while I have my procedure done?
It is important that our focus is on the patient and not on others therefore no one other than the patient and medical personnel will be allowed the procedure suite.
How do I schedule an appointment for a consultation?
To schedule an appointment for a consultation simply call our office and provide your first and last name, contact information and day that you would like to be seen and we will be more than happy to find a day that is conducive to your schedule. Consultations are free and generally last between 30-40 minutes.
How do I schedule an appointment for a procedure?
Surgery dates can be scheduled at the time of the consultation. A deposit in the amount of $500 will be required at the time you decide to book an appointment. Payments can be made using Cash, Check or Credit Card.
Is my deposit refundable?
A portion of the deposit is refundable up to 21 days prior to the procedure. Hollywood Liposculpture will retain part of the deposit to cover lab and administrative expenses on all cancelled or rescheduled procedures.
Does my deposit get applied to my procedure fee?
Absolutely, as soon as your deposit is taken that amount is deducted from the total procedure fee.
Is Liposculpture the same as mesotherapy?
No. Liposculpture and mesotherapy are not the same thing. Liposculpture immediately removes fat with suction and tiny instruments. Liposculpture may remove up to 70% of the fat in one simple procedure. Mesotherapy, on the other hand, involves injecting various chemicals into the fat in a series of 10 or more treatments that may or may not improve the contour of the area.
What if I’m not happy after my procedure?
At Hollywood Liposculpture we measure our success by the happiness of our patients. Therefore if you do not heal evenly or if you do not have a noticeable difference in the treated area after you are healed, we will be happy to remove more fat in that treated area for no more than 50% of the original procedure fee.
What are my scars going to look like?
The small adits (holes) created to remove the fat are generally the size of bug bites or pimples and heal just as though a bug bite or pimple would. The length of time in which your adits may still be noticeable varies from patient to patient but most patients report that their scars are no longer visible after 1 year.
Who is considered a good candidate?
If you are a healthy adult, under 60 years old with no significant chronic illness and want to improve the way you look by removing unwanted fat deposits then you may be a good candidate for the Liposculpture procedure.
What if I want to get pregnant after the procedure?
Liposculpture will not affect future pregnancy. However, patients looking to conceive shortly thereafter the procedure may want to consider postponing the procedure until nine months after the birth of their child.
Are the results from Liposculpture permanent?
Yes. Fat removed by Liposculpture does not grow back. The area that you have treated with Liposculpture will always be smaller and have less fat than if you do not have the procedure. The fat cells that remain can potentially get larger, but that area will never be in the same proportion after the procedure as it would have been prior to Liposculpture. You will continue to age and it is possible to gain weight if you eat more calories than your body needs. The weight that you gain in the future will be distributed throughout your remaining fat deposits. Aging will continue to produce the normal changes in the shape of the body even after Liposculpture. However, the benefits of Liposculpture will always be apparent.
How long is the healing time?
Healing time varies from patient to patient and though we cannot gage or guarantee healing time; most patients return to a light to moderate activity in 48-72 hours and their normal activities 1-2 weeks post procedure.
How long before I see my final results?
Every patient sees results at a different speed and some areas may show results faster than others. Although everyone is different and there is no guarantee you will see quick results, the love handles, hips, arms and thighs tend to show immediate improvement, while the abdomen and chin (depending on your original size) areas can take a few weeks to see a good change. When it comes to the abdomen or chin, you might see immediate results that improve over time or you might have a few weeks of swelling that may make you feel a little swollen. There is no way to precisely guage your healing speed or how quickly you will see final results. Although most people look and feel much better 8 to 10 weeks after Liposculpture, it can take 6 months or more for your final result.
What if I have cellulite and/or loose skin prior to the procedure?
Liposculpture is not a treatment for cellulite or hanging skin. If you are over age 60 and have very little skin elasticity or have undergone a massive weight loss, your skin may not fully snap back after Liposculpture and although you will be smaller, you may have permanent wrinkling that will look like you lost a good deal of weight. If hanging flaps of skin or skin wrinkling is a problem you currently have or anticipate; you may want to seek a skin removal type surgery or other surgical alternatives. Everyone has a unique body and should be realistic in terms results.
How much time to I have to take off of work?
Most patients return to light to moderate work within a few days or even the next day. However, if you have more than 4 areas treated in one visit you may need to plan on taking off a couple days more before returning to work. If you have a physically demanding job you may need 1 week off before returning to a normal work schedule.
How many procedures can I have in one visit?
The number of areas you can have treated in one day varies based on height and weight. For most patients the maximum number of areas you can have treated is 5. If you have an excessive amount of fat or if you are a larger person, the maximum number of areas you can have treated is 3 to 4. These of course are estimates, and the final decision will be determined on the day of the procedure. Your safety is our number one priority; therefore our staff will have the final say in the number of areas you can have treated in one visit.
Do I have to have a consultation before the procedure?
Patient expectations can often supercede an achieveable outcome therefore all patients are required to come in for a consultation prior to scheduling a surgery date. It is important that our patient’s have an understanding of the procedure as well as achieveable results. A consultation will determine the aesthetic candidacy of a patient and give patients the opportunity to meet the staff who will be caring for them on the day of their procedure.
What kind of anesthesia will I have?
Tumescent Liposcution utilizes an advanced technique of a dilute solution of local anesthetic (lidocaine) infiltrated into the area(s) to be treated. Therefore there is no need for general anesthesia nor will the be a need for narcotic medication thereby avoiding their inherit complications and risks.
Can I drive myself home after the procedure?
No. Patients coming in for a scheduled procedure must have a driver. Your driver should be someone with a flexible schedule and someone who plans on playing a key role in your after care. Your driver is more than welcome to wait in our lobby during your procedure or we can always call your driver once you are ready to be discharged.

We take every precaution to avoid any potential complications. In fact, our tumescent technique and use of power-assisted liposculpture significantly reduces the occurrence of most complications.
