Liposculpture is a weight loss surgery

Liposculpture SHOULD NOT be considered as a weight loss procedure. Altsough, you may lose weight because of the removal of the fat, the primary goal is to achieve the "look" that you desire. Despite the removal of up to 10-12 pounds of pure fat, you may not see a whole 12 lb. reduction right away. This is because initially you will swell, and the fluid you retain may even be heavier than the fat itself. With time to heal, you may see a reduction on the scale, but we do not encourage you to strive for a specific weight, but rather a reduction in your size.

Liposculpture and Liposuction are the same procedure

While the end result of removing fat is common they are very different techniques. Liposculpture has many benefits over Liposuction, including: shorter recovery time, no general anesthesia, fewer scars, smoother, more consistent result and usually more affordable. With the use of smaller equipment and local anesthesia, Liposculpture significantly reduces the associated risks of traditional Liposuction.

Liposculpture will give me the same result as a tummy tuck

Liposculpture may in fact lead to skin tightening, but the results are limited. If you have a lot of loose hanging skin, a tummy tuck may still be necessary after liposculpture. In most cases, a tummy tuck does not include liposuction, it is our experience that patients will get liposculpture first, and then decide after the procedure whether they still require a tummy tuck. A vast majority of the patients decide that liposculpture is sufficient for their expectations. By doing this you may save thousands of dollars and get the results you desire.

Liposculpture is a medical necessity

No, there is no medical reason you need liposculpture. The results are strictly cosmetic, but it can't hurt to take off excess fat, which may benefit your health, although there have been no studies backing this belief. Many of our patients have an improvement in their self-image and self worth (i.e. mental health and well being) along with quality of life.

I do not have to watch what I eat after my Liposculpture procedure

Liposculpture is not meant to replace good eating habits or exercise. You will still have the potential to gain weight in the area that you have not had fat removed. Most of our patients use Liposculpture as a kick-start to their new life, which includes a healthy lifestyle with good eating habits and plenty of exercise.

If I have the procedure in one area I will gain weight in other strange areas

Liposculpture can remove up to 70% of your fat in one given area. This means that there’s still fat remaining. The difference will be that as you gain weight after the procedure the amount of fat that you are gaining will be distributed evenly throughout your body among the untreated areas and proportionally to the treated areas.
